David Helfenbein has over fifteen years of experience in crisis management, public affairs, litigation and legal communication, government relations and public policy. He is currently Vice President, Public Relations at Burford Capital, with responsibility for maximizing Burford’s visibility in business and legal press on a global basis through PR.
Prior to joining Burford, Helfenbein worked as an Associate Director at Finsbury Glover Hering, where he developed external and internal communication strategies for high-profile global clients, with a focus on litigation, crisis and government relations work. He has also worked in a range of senior roles across several public relations firms and branding agencies, including Main & Rose, DKC and Ruder Finn. He began his career working in the U.S. Senate, followed by the U.S. Department of State, where he helped lead the State Department’s rebrand of its web and social media presence.
Helfenbein earned his law degree from the School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis and his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
